Project Summary
Fusion were commissioned by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to provide client-side Project Management services during the development of their new-build single storey Cambridge Movement Surgical Hub, which comprises three state of the art orthopaedic operating theatre suites, an eight-bed recovery area, as well as a new x-ray suite, physiotherapy recovery space and staff facilities.
The Cambridge Movement Surgical Hub was constructed using factory made modular units, which were craned into position on site and connected to the existing P2 and Q2 Wards, to provide the Trust with additional theatre space and aid with reducing the NHS backlog of elective orthopaedic surgery patients.
The Cambridge Movement Surgical Hub was constructed by MTX Contracts using modern methods of construction, with AECOM providing Architecture, Project Management, Cost Management, Principal Designer, Structural and M&E Services, and BREEAM consultancy services.
