The Deakin Centre is a four-storey teaching facility located within the heart of the Addenbrookes campus that is shared between Addenbrookes Hospital and Cambridge Regional College. Central to the teaching within the building are the diploma level study and the care of people; these courses are delivered in areas such as social, welfare, health, justice or rehabilitation. The facility offers students regular access to professional role models in a ‘real-work’ settings – teaching staff and students will work with co-opted professionals in innovative facilities. The overall design of the building has been to create a new positive and uplifting building for Addenbrookes with a conscious use of space, light and materials.
