Project Summary

In 2017, Oaklands College successfully obtained planning consent to redevelop their main teaching campus on Hatfield Road in St Albans. The planning consent triggered the sale of a portion of the College’s land to a residential developer and the income from the sale is being used to fund a number of new college buildings.

The new masterplan, which has been designed by DLA Architecture and will be delivered over four phases, features a student residential building, a new General Teaching building, a Construction & Engineering teaching facility, a Sports Pavilion and a new hub for the site knows as the Gateway building that will include a Learning Resource Centre, a refectory and staff accommodation.

The first phase of the redevelopment is the student residential building, The Homestead, which is due to complete in the summer of 2020, with construction of Phase 2, the General Teaching building, due to commence later in the year.
