Project Summary

The redevelopment of Oaklands College’s main campus in St Albans Campus aims to deliver a modern, fit-for-purpose campus, combining education and residential facilities, to provide the best possible teaching and learning environment for students.

Phase 1 of the re-development consisted of a purpose-built 83-bedroom student accommodation facility, bringing together living, recreation, social, and amenity spaces. Named The Homestead, the facility improves the quality of student accommodation on the campus significantly, allowing the College to be a destination for international students, as well as those within the local area.

The Homestead was constructed by Willmott Dixon and completed in July 2020. Despite progressing in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, The Homestead was delivered on time and within budget. Fusion is very proud to have been part of a team to deliver this project through a time of adversity, keeping the construction site open and operating throughout.
