Project Summary

Fusion were commissioned by Harlow College to provide Project Management and Cost Management services in connection with the construction of a new teaching building at Stansted Airport. The new centre provides qualifications to meet the skills needs of the airport in areas such as engineering, catering & hospitality, ground operations and cabin crew.

The building is located adjacent to the airport runway so the acoustic design of the building was critical to ensure a comfortable teaching environment could be achieved. In addition to the usual statutory approvals, technical approval from the airport authorities were required for the superstructure, site landscaping, highways and utilities connections. Fusion managed this process on behalf of the College acting as the interface between the project team and the airport technical departments.
